Arc System Works Video Policy (Video Posting Guidelines) Last updated: June 2021

Arc System Works (“ASW”) feels fortunate to have Loyal Fans who want to create engaging content using game footage from ASW titles. Based on the guidelines below, we encourage you to use game footage of ASW titles for walkthroughs, tutorials, Let’s Play, speed runs, reviews, reactions, and instructional videos to be shared on YouTube, Twitch.tv, your website, or other video/streaming sites.

Please note the following guidelines ONLY apply to intellectual property owned by ASW. For anything related to content owned by third parties, you must check with those parties.

GUIDELINES
Online Posting: We encourage you to create videos that include your creative input and commentary. You should not share game footage online without adding your own video or content. Also, you should not take assets from ASW games (e.g. voice, music, items) and distribute them separately.

Posting before launch: Unless you have explicit permission from ASW, any posting or other unauthorized disclosure of game content prior to the official release date is prohibited.

Monetization: You may monetize your videos via the YouTube partner program and similar programs on other video sharing sites subject to their guidelines. Collecting voluntary contributions, such as through SuperChat on YouTube and Bits on Twitch, is permitted as long as your video is also available for free to the public on YouTube, Twitch or other video sharing services.

No Commercialization: Notwithstanding the aforementioned, we do not allow ASW intellectual property to be used to make money or to gain any other financial benefit except through permissible monetization described above. For example, do not charge users to access your videos and do not sell or license your videos to others for a payment of any kind.

Inappropriate Content: Simple duplication of official trailers, ads and non-dynamic in-game footage as well as uploading ASW full games, or even a majority of a title to your website, are prohibited. Also using ASW titles to create video and other content, including mods, that is illegal, racist, sexist, prejudicial to sexual orientation, sexually explicit, disparaging, promotes hate crimes, or is otherwise offensive is prohibited. We reserve the right to remove content like above at our discretion.

General: Please understand we are not staffed to respond to requests for individual clearance, so please do not write to us and ask. Also, we may update these Guidelines from time to time, so please refer to the latest version before sharing your content.

Below is a list of frequently asked questions from the community that we have provided answers for. Please note all situations are handled on a case by case basis and not all answers may apply to every situation as these are the most frequently asked questions our answers cover most situations. Due to the above mentioned these answers may be updated from time to time to fit situational circumstances.

Q: Can I upload my matches and gameplay online (YouTube, Twitch.tv, Personal Website, Video Streaming site) directly from my Playstation or PC (Steam Version) without any commentary?

A: YES! We encourage you to use footage from ASW titles for walkthroughs, tutorials, Let’s Play, speed runs, reviews, reactions, instructional videos, and of course matches and match highlights. Matches and gameplay fall under the category of “Let’s Play” and are recognized as such. You can upload the above stated content without commentary, but ASW reserves the right to remove content subject to the policy.

Matches: One or more persons conducting “head to head” gameplay with another available and playable entity be it Human or Artificial (CPU opponent).

Matches without commentary: Recorded “Matches” (defined above) without any type of outside of game audio recorded from the person or persons conducting the match.

Q: Can I use music or theme songs from the games as background music for my content?

A: YES! Although We do not allow directly ripped music from the game to be used as stand alone content, You may use themes for live streams, lore discussion, reviews, and content that has the creator involved physically and/or vocally in some sort of way subject to Arc System Works Video Policy (Posting Guidelines) when doing this.
